Advanced Energy seeks Building Science Technician in Raleigh

SystemVision also uses energy modeling to provide heating and cooling energy use and comfort guarantees for two years. These guarantees benefit the homeowner and act as a feedback loop for the program. SystemVision reviews and troubleshoots high bill complaints or moisture-related concerns. The Building Science Technician will…

  • Perform building plan reviews including load calculations and/or energy performance analysis.
  • Conduct applied building science diagnostics: visit structures, conduct measurement tests, record results, summarize data, recommend solutions, define and interpret the importance of the implementation of corrective measures, and perform quality control.
  • Perform QC inspections in accordance with Advanced Energy’s home performance programs; use a variety of diagnostic tools and methods that may include blower door, duct blaster, air flow testers, air balancing equipment, etc.
  • Provide advice, problem solving and instruction regarding corrective measures for meeting program requirements (e.g., System Vision for New and/or Existing Homes; Home Performance with ENERGY STAR).  Recommend specific system modifications or adjustments.
  • Assist with preparation of workshops and presentations. Comply with all standards, policies and procedures, including safety and clean work space procedures.
  •  Provide hands on assistance in deploying new technologies in the  field.
  • Help establish equipment selection and measurement tools and techniques for energy-efficient homes.

ICF seeks Energy Efficiency Account Manager in Raleigh

To support our growth, we are currently seeking an Analyst to join our energy efficiency implementation team located in Raleigh, NC.  The selected candidate will support our Residential New Construction program.

This position requires experience with public speaking as well as strong writing, editing, and research skills. The job will require concerted outreach in recruiting and retaining single family and multifamily developers and builders, as well as training builder sales staff on the benefits of energy efficient homes.  The selected candidate will

  • Responsibility for core program responsibilities across the state:
    • Recruit and retain builders and raters to participate in the program to meet program savings goals
    • Manage the program inboxes to ensure prompt responses to participants
    • Review program records to ensure timely payment of incentive checks
    • Develop monthly technical bulletins in collaboration with program team
    • Schedule and perform field QA with Raters and builders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of related work experience
  • Experience with field diagnostic tools, specifically blower door and duct blasters.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

Dept. of Environmental Quality seeking Program Analyst in Raleigh

Job Responsibilities:

This position will conduct residential energy efficiency monitoring activities to determine compliance with the state and federal regulations for approximately ten (10) subgrantees receiving funds as part of the North Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program and Heating Air Repair and Replacement Program (HARRP). The primary functions are on-site quality control inspections and assessment of weatherization service providers’ program operations, including inspection of residential houses weatherized, review of program documentation and training/ technical assistance. The person will prepare comprehensive written reports of monitoring results and recommended corrective actions to alleviate or remedy deficiency situations, assess contractor activities for adherence to program guidelines, assess client data collection system/eligibility, services provided, and monthly reporting. Work requires an estimated of 40% of occasional overnight travel and includes inspections that may require climbing or other physical demands. Perform other duties as assigned.

Above and Beyond Energy seeks HERS Rater or RFI Specialist in Raleigh Area

Above  and  Beyond  Energy  has  become  a  regional  leader  in  residential  energy  consultation  and commissioning and is looking to hire a residential building performance technician. Must be at least 21 years of age, high school graduate and have BPI Certifications; experience in social skills; some knowledge of building and safety codes.  The position requires a minimum knowledge of construction techniques and weatherization and construction materials.  Must own a vehicle (preferably a truck).  Knowledge of blower door technology and energy savings.
