Description

This course is designed to teach builders and contractors the fundamentals of proper HVAC equipment sizing and selection for homes.  One will learn how to properly size HVAC equipment for a new residential dwelling using a detailed heating and cooling load calculation and actual Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) performance data from different manufacturers for AC, Heat Pumps and Gas Furnace systems.  Issues related to improper sizing presented so that the builder can better understand the interactions with the building envelope and help avoid the related problems and complaints that often arise after the building is occupied.
