Description

This course is designed to teach Code Enforcement Officials the fundamental steps required of the HVAC contractor in determining the correct equipment to consider for a building.  One will learn the important concepts used in assembling and producing an accurate residential HVAC load calculation.  Special attention will be placed on use of 2018 Code U-Values, R-Values and SHGC’s in performing load calculations, as well how the U-Values and SHGC’s are impacted in windows.  A Heating and Cooling Load Example will be presented in conjunction with the “ACAA Manual J Do’s and Don’ts” to ensure accuracy throughout the entire load calculation evaluation.  Real-life procedures will be shown on how to conduct a detailed site-survey to ensure capturing important construction details when building the load calculation report.
