Cost is the number one perceived barrier to zero energy projects. The truth is that many ZE buildings have been built at little to no additional cost compared to a conventional buildings. Experienced professionals will demonstrate how ultra-low energy buildings combined with on-site renewables can be designed and built at the same cost as a conventional building and provide long-term financial benefits. Examples will include financial models for existing zero energy building and discuss how tax-exempt leases, sale-leaseback, partnership-flip, and cash purchase scenarios can benefit a project’s budget.
