Description
Before taking this class, you should have completed “Building Science Principles and Practice 1: Overview and Introduction to Control Layers” or an earlier version of that class titled “Building Science Principles and Practice for Nonresidential and Highrise Residential Enclosures”.
You can’t achieve good building performance without a good building enclosure, and one of the most fundamental aspects of enclosure design is thermal control. This on-demand program with Dr. John Straube will provide an understanding of how heat flow works and how to control it through design and construction best practices. In addition to the fundamentals, you will learn about specific issues such as the role of air leakage, thermal mass, and thermal bridging – and how these issues are typically interpreted in building codes.
