The North Carolina Energy Policy Council (EPC) was formed in 1875 to advise the Governor and the General Assembly about legislation and regulations to protect the environment, advanced domestic energy exploration and development, and encourage economic development in North Carolina. Every two years, the EPC releases a report detailing their progress over the past two years, key findings in the state’s energy market, and creates recommendations that help to advance energy policies in the state, including energy efficiency.
