NCBPA encourages our residential and commercial design, construction and sustainability professionals in the Triangle, NC area that are interested in reducing construction waste in our industry to participate in this important local initiative.
Circular Triangle is a Durham, NC-based non-profit whose mission is to inspire and enable a circular economy in the Triangle.
One of their focus areas is reducing waste and pollution in the built environment. You can read a short paragraph explaining why they chose this focus area here. To achieve this, Circular Triangle is convening a community of practice made up of design, construction and sustainability professionals and other stakeholders who want to learn and work together to eliminate construction and demolition waste locally.
The community of practice will do this by identifying, testing, and promoting industry best practices around sustainable material sourcing, circular building design and construction, and end-of-life resource recovery. Here is a preliminary document describing the community of practice objectives.
Circular Triangle intends to amend this document to more precisely describe the goals and work of the community of practice once they have convened all partners.
