NCBPA is pleased to report that we have formally begun our 12-month NC HERS Rater Market Development Project with grant funding provided by RESNET and match funding provided by NCBPA, member companies and industry partners. This project focuses on advocacy, education and marketing efforts in two primary areas:
- Expanding Duke Energy’s Residential New Construction Program (RNC), which relies on HERS Ratings to provide up to $9,000 cash incentives to residential new construction builders that build homes that are more than 15% more energy efficient than base code.
- Establishing North Carolina as the first state pilot/proof of concept for the new ICC HERS/IECC Compliance Specialist certification.
Work is well underway on the first phase of the project with new activities starting in June. North Carolina HERS Raters and industry stakeholders are encouraged to get involved in the project to support our market and create new opportunities for your businesses, workers and customers.
