Duke Energy has partnered with North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA) to administer the Duke Energy Carolinas Weatherization Program (DEC WX Program). NCCAA along with their implementation partner, Lockheed Martin, will initiate services in Durham County.
The DEC WX Program is designed to assist income qualified customers with managing their energy costs by making energy efficiency improvements at the customer’s residence. The DEC WX Program Design requires that you follow a priority list of measures including weatherization and electric water heating conservation measures. Additionally the program provides for a replacement of inefficient refrigerators and installation of high efficiency heat pumps HVAC upgrades.
To participate in the DEC WX Program:
- Complete the Participation Agreement
- Meet all Program Requirements related to certifications, licenses and insurance
- Own/Purchase required diagnostic equipment
- Respond to a pricing request
- Complete the work in reasonable timeframes
- Provide courteous and professional services
In order to successfully implement the program, NCCAA would like to establish relationships with a variety of contractors to include shell, insulation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
